The main purpose of the Association’s activity is to defend the interests of the societies, factories and companies – regular members of BPW as follows:

1. Coordinate the research activities in the fields of technology, operation, marketing of the rail road and freight cars.

2. Participate in the activity of UIP for development of international rules for the movement and operation of private freight cars .

3. Defend the interests of its members towards “BDZ” GSC and NC“RRRI”, and on other railroad administrations and non-government organizations.

4. Support the owners and consignors of private freight cars by facilitating registration at the rolling stock of BDZ.

5. Support the proper technical operation of  private freight cars.

6. Prioritize the repair of the private freight-cars.

7. Prioritize deliveries of spare parts, or submit such parts from its warehouses, for repairs of private freight-cars.

8. Organize the transport of loads with a view to most rational use and the decrease of freight costs.

9.Assist the popularization of the new requirements for ecology and security of the railway transport, accepted by UIP.

10. Assist the extension of multipurpose transport and other new technologies.

11. Assist the creation of conditions for dynamic development of railway transport in Bulgaria and the region.

12. Build up and support stores with spare parts for freight cars.

13. Organize meetings and demonstrations of new technology ,  as well as other activities connected to the Association.

14. Res olve various problems at the request of members of “BPW”.
